Dr. Andrew Del Carmine Jr. PT, DPT – Founder of Hybrid Healing
Andrew grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut (CT) and is currently living in Stamford, CT. Throughout his teenage years, he spent a lot of time at the gym, training to be a stronger offensive lineman and quicker long snapper for the Greenwich High School football team. In the gym, Andrew developed a fundamental understanding of proper lifting techniques and training guidelines. His achievement of lifting 500 lbs at the age of 16 sparked his passion for exploring the capabilities of the human body.
Andrew spent 4 years at the University of Rhode Island (URI) where he obtained his Bachelor of Kinesiology. His love for the gym continued as he, together with a fraternity brother, joined the powerlifting team. By applying knowledge obtained in the classroom, Andrew and his teammates beat personal and state lifting records, and Andrew’s curiosity for the human body continued to grow.
Prior to going to graduate school Andrew wanted to challenge his body in a different way. He worked as a ski technician in Breckenridge, Colorado (CO) where he fitted clients to appropriate ski equipment based off their attributes while he also became an expert skier. Here, he literally brought his body to new heights (>13,000 feet above sea level). At this altitude, just walking 500 feet felt like you ran a marathon due to the thinner air. 13,000 feet (about half the height of Mount Everest) above sea level is where he developed the skill to ski down double black extreme diamond trails – the stuff you see on GoPro videos.
After Colorado, Andrew came back to Fairfield County and pursued his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Sacred Heart University. This is where he knew this line of work was for him. He spent hundreds of hours understanding biomechanics and anatomy, bringing his skills to clinicals and graduating with honors. His education continued at his first job, where advanced manual treatments and dry needling were the bread and butter of their work. These techniques have shaped Hybrid Healing’s approach, and now he is ready to bring these unique treatments to you.
